Kenmare’s little secret is being a gourmet centre, full of galleries, cafes, and bookshops to explore. For full day tours, we venture on to the fiercely rugged and little-visited Beara Peninsula. Rich in archaeology and spiritual importance to the Irish, it is a place of ancient megalithic monuments, stone circles, holy wells, sacred peaks and more. Our spectacular journey will take us along the sheltered Atlantic shoreline of Bantry Bay and to Ballylickey, where we’ll sample some great cheeses from the region before travelling on through the historic Borlin Valley, over the ridge of mountains that separates the counties of Cork and Kerry.
